Asphalt Shingle

Asphalt shingle is the secondary Anthem roof material — most common on accessory structures, second-story additions, casitas, and a percentage of original Country Club and Parkside builds. Modern architectural shingle systems are far better than the three-tab products from twenty years ago.

Architectural vs. three-tab

Three-tab is dead for new installs in Anthem — it doesn't carry the right wind ratings, and the lifecycle isn't competitive with architectural products. Architectural (laminated) shingle is what we install: thicker, dimensional, with much better wind performance and a 30–50 year manufacturer warranty depending on the system.

Impact rating and the eastern slope

On Hillside, New River, and Desert Hills installations where wind and impact exposure is genuinely greater, we recommend impact-rated (IR) shingle systems and the manufacturer's enhanced-fastening starter and ridge package. The cost premium is small. The lifecycle improvement is meaningful.

Brands we install

GAF Timberline HDZ, Owens Corning Duration, and CertainTeed Landmark are our most-installed systems. Each comes in palettes that work with the warm-tone Anthem stucco architecture.
